Archer Aviation Expands Powertrain Tech Deal with Anduril and EDGE Following UAE Order
Archer Aviation (ACHR) has secured a strategic agreement to supply its proprietary electric powertrain technology to defense contractors Anduril Industries and EDGE Group for their new Omen aircraft program. The deal, stemming from a prior UAE government order for 50 units, marks Archer's first third-party powertrain sale and establishes dual revenue streams across commercial and defense sectors.
The vertically integrated aviation firm will adapt its Midnight aircraft powertrain—noted for its high-performance cells and scalable U.S. manufacturing infrastructure—to meet Omen's demanding hover-to-cruise transition requirements. This technological transfer accelerates production timelines while mitigating development risks for Anduril's next-generation platform.
The partnership builds upon twelve months of collaborative R&D on hybrid lift systems, positioning Archer as an emerging force in aerospace propulsion. Concurrently, the company continues expanding its Asian supply chain network, though specific regional partners remain undisclosed in this announcement.
